Posted in Work, Job experience 仕事について on June 29, 2007 by Mervin

Today is my last day in Millennium. It’s been an honour to be able to work with all these talented people here. I’m sure we had a lot of fun working together.

Firstly,I would like to thank my boss, Jeffrey for giving me the opportunity to work in MET. Thanks for teaching me about this exciting career. This path is not easy. Although my major is Environmental Biology, less than 5% of what i learn in school is applied here. With 10 years of experiences, You told me a lot of interesting stories in this field and taught me the know-how of waste water treatment. I admire your character, experience and knowledge. Arigatou!

Mr. Eric, thank you. Ms. Tan told me a lot about you. You are a role model of every person in the office. Frankly speaking, i was quite afraid to talk to you hehe… hopefully can get to know you more if i ever have to chance to work in Millennium again.

Yong Han, you are the best supervisor that i ever encounter. Your guidance has broaden my view about the environmental industries. Well i know you are a busy person, but don’t forget to take good care of yourself ya.

Ms. Tan, i sincerely thank you. You showed me a lot on about the processes in the office, filing, issuing PO, DO and stuffs, banking, value in life, a lot a lot more… You are the best sister that i ever had. Thank you again.

Benson and Ms. KO, my dearest office papa and mama. Haha i’m glad to be able to know both of you. Kind, friendly and funny. Well, without you i’m sure office won’t be so ‘interesting’ yeah?? Hehe… thanks for the precious memories.

My 3 dearest sisters, Pau Yen, Ai Choon, and May. Thank you very much for spending the time to teach me the things in office especially Autocad. It’s fun to work with you guys. You guys are the ’sweetest’ project engineers! Ai Choon… you ‘fly me aeroplane’ i will remember that!! hehe 冗談だよ。。。

Stanley and Summer, you guys are good singers! hehe… if have chance we go karaoke again ya! Thanks you for the time. I cherish it a lot.

Chan and Guok, haha… when you guys just arrived in MET, i treated you guys like juniors and passed all my work to you hehe. I sincerely apologize.  Well you guys are great. You guys are the super horse of MET. I hope i can work with u guys again.

Kevin, thanks for teaching me the Adobe photoshop. You saved me life man!!! I believe you will be someone great in the future. I’m looking forward to meet u again :)

Datuk K, thanks for helping me with the operating manual. Sometimes, you are quite annoying walking around here and there in the office. But it’s okie. I love to walk around too…

To all Millennium mates, thanks for being a part of my life. I will cherish it very much.  Here’s the prove…

tupperware

Recently i’m quite busy with the initiation of the container campaign for USM. Well the objective is simple. To promote the use of own container when take away food. First it reduce the use of polystyrene. Second this way we can minimise waste. As simple as that…

When i came back from Penang yesterday night. My mom showed me that she got a free gift from tupperware. She is a big fan of tupperware. The whole kitchen cabinets store all her tupperware collection. The free gift is ‘go Flex!’. At first, i thought it was a plate. But when she magically open up the lid cover, it actually turned into a container. Hehe… are you thinking what i’m thinking?? If i could introduce this during the campaign, it could be a great hit! It save space and you can take it with you anytime. When you need it, it opens up and give you 950ml. Yes 950ml of storage space. This is way too cool i’m telling you!!
Unfortunately the cost of this is RM35 each. It’s kind of expensive for average students. But don’t worry USMian, our Kelab Alam Sekitar would provide you with an excellence prices! (Making appointment with the Manager now and hopefully can get a better quotation). Wish me luck if you are reading this.

So, dear friends of the Earth, What are you waiting for? It’s time to shift…

Bag bag

This is a bag which i bought from Guardian for RM2. In support to reduce the use of plastic bags. It a bag that can zipped into the size of a pencil case. So it is quite convenient to be carried in your bag and can be used to carry the items that you buy. A good start right?

Well, my friends, let’s try to reduce the use of plastics bags k? They are non-biodegradable! In other words it stays in the soil forever and ever…. forever and ever…

If you din’t bring any bag when you buy stuffs, go JUSCO! their plastic bags are biodegradable… way to go JUSCO! Horray to JUSCO!

Best Working Day

Posted in Work, Job experience 仕事について on June 14, 2007 by Mervin

Yesterday was my best working day ever. I become the – ‘Mat driver’ again for my boss. As early as 9.30am i went to SJMC to pick him up. But unfortunately his doctor had not arrive yet to change his ‘dressing’.

We went to IRIS for an incenerator business talk. Incenerator are actually huge burner that can be used to burn domestic waste, clinical waste, schedule waste and so on.  My boss invited an incenerator expert to deal with IRIS. He is the director of an EIA consultancy. My future job leh!! Can earn big money and help the environment at the same time.

The next appointment was in KLCC, so i took the opportunity to go Pudu and get tickets to go back Penang. Well the meeting was quite informal and they talked about situation in Vietnam. Well Vietnam is damn corrupted and many factories (light and heavy industries) are coming up. This mean more pullution and more business (from our point of view).

We had back to SJMC at around 6pm. These means superb jam time in KL >.<, well with 1 and a 1/2 hour jam i had the opportunity to ask a lot of question regarding this industries, how he manage his staffs, how to deal with customers and so on. Very interesting 1 and 1/2 hour lectures.

Well i just love my industrial training job. I’m loving it… oh ya… i’m loving it…

it is an all the time thing.

You don’t do things right

once in a while…

You do them right all the time.”
